Aloo Tikki recipe

It was snowing heavily here in the evening. We have a weakness for snacks and it is a must on a gloomy or rainy days. I’m desperately waiting for Sun ;( .Hate long winter days without any Sun. Initially thought of making Potato Bhajji , but I don’t want any fried stuff so started looking around my favorite blogs and ended up doing Aloo tikki from show me the curry.

Ingredients for Aloo Tikki

Boiled Potatoes 2

Finely Chopped Onion 1

Green Chillies 2 finely chopped

Crushed Peanuts 1/2 cup

Cilantro Chopped 4 tbsp

Amchoor Powder(Dry Mango Powder) tbsp or Lemon Juice

Kasuri Methi Leaves ( Dry Fenugreek leaves ) 2 tbsp

Chilly Powder 1 tsp

Cumin Powder 1 tsp

Salt

Bread Crumbs

All purpose flour or Egg

Oil

Making of Aloo Tikki

First take a bowl and mash boiled potatoes.

Now add chopped onions,green chillies, cilantro and kasuri methi.

Now add chilli powder, cumin powder, chat masala , amchur powder and salt.

Mix all of them. Check if you can make patties and if they are holding its shape.

Mine was bit dry so I have mixed some all purpose flour in water . After making into patty shaped I just dipped Aloo patties in this liquid and rolled them in bread crumbs.

You can also use egg for dipping aloo patties. Beat the egg and add some salt and gently dip Aloo tikki in egg batter and roll it in bread crumbs.

Complete this process for all of them.

Meanwhile heat a pan or tawa. Add oil and gently shallow fry Aloo Tikki on them till golden brown on both sides.

Serve Aloo Tikki with your favorite sauce. I like mine with hot sauce. My girl’s favorite is ketchup . Enjoy.
