Capsicum Pachadi/Green Pepper Chutney

I’m fond of this Capsicum Pachadi or Green Pepper Chutney. I never get bored of eating pachadi. I can hear my Father screaming you will loose all its fibers when you grind, you need to eat whole veggies. But I like eating pachadi atleast once a week. Sorry Nanna once a week is Ok 🙂

This Capsicum pachadi aka Green Pepper Chutney is very easy to make and tastes so good. My mom makes so many varieties using capsicum (as we call in India). She makes capsicum perugu pachadi and Capsicum curry and Capsicum gravy and many more.

Ingredients for this Capsicum Pachadi/Green Pepper Chutney:

Capsicum(Green Peppers) 2

Onions 1

Green Chillies 4

Garlic 2 pods

Tamarind Paste 1 tsp

Cumin Seeds 1 tsp

Urad dal 1 tsp

Chana Dal 1 tsp

Making of Capsicum Pachadi/Green Pepper Chutney:

Take a pan and add oil when pan is hot.

Add cumin seeds and when they splutter add urad dal and chana dal. saute till these dal’s are lightly brown.

Now add chopped onions and green chillies and saute. Add garlic and saute.

Now add chopped capsicum (peppers) and saute till they are cooked.

Blend these into a coarse paste along with tamarind paste. Adjust salt and spice levels according to your taste.

Enjoy Capsicum Pachadi or Green Pepper Chutney.

You can make this with Red Capsicum or Red Pepper. I didn’t like this with yellow as they too sweet for my taste buds.
