  1. Take a pan and when it is hot add cumin seeds.
  2. When cumin seeds crackle add urad dal, chana dal and fry till they turn into golden color.
  3. Remove dals from pan and keep it aside.
  4. Now add chopped garlic, ginger and fry for few minutes. Remove from pan.
  5. Add chopped green chillies and fry them till done.
  6. Now add chopped dondakaya(tindora) to the pan and fry till they are cooked.
  7. Cover the pan and add salt. This will help them to cook faster. Don't add water.
  8. Now grind dal's first into coarse powder.
  9. Then you either remove them for a crunchy texture or grind them with dondakaya(tindora) and rest of the ingredients .
  10. I added dal powder after grinding dondakaya and other ingredients.
  11. I made a very coarse chutney.

You don’t need popu or tadka. It tastes good with rice ,chapathi, idly or dosa.
Note: You can add tomatoes for a different kind of pachadi.
