Falafel My Way

My husband introduced me to Falafel. I fell in love with this cuisine the minute I tasted them. I felt they are very similar to vada we make in India.

After many visits for that restaurant, I finally looked online for falafel recipe and tried this falafel . I made few changes to this one.

Ingredients for Falafel:

1) Chick peas 1 cup
2) Onion small
3) Cumin 2 tsp
4) Red chilli powder 1 tsp
5) Pepper 1/2 tsp
6) Coriander powder 1 tsp
7) Curry leaves
8) Cilantro leaves
9) Cardamom Powder a pinch
10) Garlic 2
11) Salt
12) Oil

Procedure for making Falafel:

Soak chick peas overnight or for 5 hours.

Drain water completely.

Blend all the ingredients coarsely and refrigerate for 2 hrs.

After 2 hrs scoop the falafel and make patties just like the way you make vada.

Deep fry them till they are done.

Enjoy falafel , they will be crispy outside soft inside. I like to have them with Tahini paste. My kid loves falafel with ketchup.
