Fish Sticks

I love to watch cooking shows. They inspire me to cook and explore new cuisines. I have seen many shows where they cook chicken nuggets, fried shrimp and fish. My daughter loves fast food. She likes chicken nuggets and fish sticks. Today I thought why not let me try them at home instead of buying them. You know what , these fish sticks are very easy and quick. It took me about 30 min to make them, same time for driving to fast food and purchasing them. Its healthy and you know what goes into your mouth. Try these and you will never buy again.

Ingredients for making Fish Sticks

Fish cut into pieces( I have used Salmon fish with skin)
Eggs 3
Bread Crumbs
Salt
Seasoning ( I have used chilli powder and pepper)
All purpose flour

Making of Fish Sticks

First wash your fish and dry them. Cut them into equal sized pieces.

Preheat oven to 450F.

Now take three bowls or plates.

In first bowl add all purpose flour and add salt, chilli powder and pepper. Mix them.

In second bowl add eggs and season them. Beat them.

In third bowl add bread crumbs. I have used Japanese bread crumbs as I have heard they have nice crunchy texture in many cooking shows. Season bread crumbs as well.

After third bowl keep your baking sheet . Cover baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy clean up.

Now first take your fish pieces and roll them in flour mixture. Coat them in flour nicely and tap to remove excess flour and transfer them to egg bowl.

Dip fish pieces in egg mixture and tap to remove excess and transfer to bread crumbs bowl.

Coat the fish pieces with bread crumbs. Gently press the fish pieces in bread crumbs so they are nicely coated with bread crumbs.

Finally transfer fish pieces coated with bread crumbs on to baking sheet.

Repeat the same procedure with remaining fish pieces.

Once the oven is heated transfer the baking sheet to oven. Bake fish sticks for about 15- 20 min.

I after 5 min I have drizzled with olive oil on fish sticks. I don’t like oil spray so I have used olive oil. Be generous.You can spray them with olive oil.

After 15 min check the fish pieces , if they are not done , let them bake for another 5 min. My fish sticks were done in 16 min.

I have served them with ketchup and ranch. That’s how my kid likes it. Enjoy.
