Today’s recipe is how to make easy Chicken Biryani in Oven. My family friend visited our home this month. He is very good at making any kind of biryani’s. He made this Chicken biryani in oven. I just captured each steps assisting him. He made it look like making biryani is easy as eating dessert. Trust me guys. But cooking time is 2 hrs long.But if you need perfect biryani you need to be patient enough.

Its been more than a month since I logged into my blog. Things have been very busy. When I get sometime I spend that time looking for deals now 😉 since this time of the year is shopping time and finding good deals saves some $$. I will be honest I do lot of impulse buying thinking they are very good and I couldn’t pass on. I guess this is what marketing guys want, to increase their sales. Dumbo’s like me do lot of stupid buying which will not be used after one use. I should blame credit cards gosh..I don’t think I can survive a day without them. OK. Enough chatting.

Ingredients for making Chicken Biryani in Oven

Chicken pieces enough to cover your pan.

Shan Chicken Biryani Masala 30gm(1/3 of 100 gm packet)

Fried Onions

Ginger Garlic Paste 1.5 Tbsp

Yogurt 3 tbsp

Green Chilies 6

Roma Tomato 1

Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp

Cashews few

Cinnamon Sticks 2

Cardamom 5-6

Cloves 6

Cilantro/Coriander Leaves a bunch

Mint a bunch

Salt

Oil ( I have used canola)

Procedure for making Chicken Biryani in Oven

First take a pan. I have used aluminium pan.Easy cleanup. Just trash them. My friend’s idea 🙂

Take clean chicken pieces and lay them in bottom of the pan. Don’t over crowd them. Just enough to cover entire pan.

Add Shan’s chicken biryani masala. Add ginger garlic paste,yogurt,chopped green chilies,turmeric powder,salt,chopped tomato,chopped cilantro and mint.

Add 1/4 cup of oil and mix all of them.

Now preheat oven to 400 F.

Once oven is preheated cook the chicken pieces for about and hour. Check on the chicken pieces after 30 min and flip the pieces so that they will be cooked evenly.

After 45 min start boiling more than enough water to cook the rice so that you will drain the rice.In this water add 6 cardamom,6 cloves,2 cinnamon sticks,2 bay leaves, 1 tsp black cumin and salt. Let water boil.

When water comes to boil add rice. Cook till rice is half done. When you touch rice it should cut but not soft.

One tip is at this point you will smell nice aroma of rice.

Switch of the flame.Drain the rice in colander.

Now check the chicken if you have too much gravy in chicken let it cook for 10-15 min. If you don’t have too much gravy then add half cooked rice into the pan.

On top of rice add few cashews.Add fried onions,cilantro and sprinkle about 1 tbsp of ghee on rice.

Cover with aluminium foil and cook for another 1 hour.

After 1 hour remove the foil and take both chicken and rice layers and serve chicken biryani.
