Lazy and Easy Cooking : One step Chicken Curry

I have thought of sharing some of my easy and lazy way of cooking. Some days when you don’t like cooking or when you don’t have a choice , these recipes might help someone . I have learned many vegetarian cooking this way from my Mom and Aunt. I have tried this with Chicken. It might not taste like regular chicken curry but it will help when you don’t want to spend too much time in front of stove or in a  hurry to fix up something homemade.

Ingredients for One step Chicken Curry :

Whole Chicken

Onion Chopped 1 or 2

Tomatoes 2 or 3

Green Chillies 5 or 6

Ginger Garlic Paste 1 or 2 tbsp

Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp

Chilli Powder 1 tbsp

Coriander Powder 1.5 tbsp

Yogurt 1/4 cup

Salt

Curry Leaves

Coriander/Cilantro Chopped a handful

Whole Garam Masala or Masala Powder

Oil or Butter

Chicken broth or water

Grated Coconut or Coconut Paste or Coconut milk

More Oil for tempering.

Making of One step Chicken Curry:

Take a pan or pressure cooker and add all the ingredients to it and let them marinate for at least 30 min. If you don’t have time you can skip marination and proceed.

Add water or chicken broth and cook till chicken is well cooked.

Add coconut paste or coconut milk. I have used grated coconut.

Now you can eat as is or add some tempering.

Take a pan and oil when pan is hot. Add whole garam masala ingredients (optional) ,add curry leaves and fennel seeds. When fennel seeds splutter increase heat and switch off and pour hot oil into chicken curry.

If you want you can fry onions,green chillies and tomatoes and add cooked chicken curry and bring it to boil and serve.

You can also make this one step chicken curry in slow cooker. Put all the ingredients into slow cooker and cook them on low for 5 to 8 hours.
