Lobster Bisque Soup Recipe

My family loves Lobster Bisque from the very first time we had tasted it in a restaurant. Today I have prepared Lobster Bisque kind of Lobster Soup at home. It came out so good. It is very easy to make and tastes so good. Don’t be intimidated by lobster shells, they are easy to break . There are many videos on youtube .

Ingredients for Lobster Bisque or Lobster Soup:

Lobsters

Onions

Chopped Ginger

Chopped Garlic

Coconut Cream(Heavy Cream)

Carrots

Pepper Corns

Chopped Tomatoes

Cilantro(Herbs of your Choice)

Salt

Olive Oil

Wine (Optional)

Making of Lobster Bisque or Lobster Soup:

Removing lobster shell is easy and you don’t need a tool to do this. Twist the claw at the join and divide into parts.You can bang with a knife or heavy spoon on one end of it and twist and you can easily remove lobster meat from shell.

Take a pan and add olive oil and when oil is hot add chopped ginger and chopped garlic and saute for few seconds.

Now add chopped onions and saute till they sweat.

Add chopped carrots and saute for few minutes. Add pepper and salt.

Clean Lobster Claws and add into the pan and saute.

Add chopped tomatoes and cilantro. You can add oregano or thyme or any herbs to enhance soup flavor.

Don’t add any water yet. Cover the pan and cook on medium flame for few minutes.

After few minutes stir and check for water. Lobster will have released water by now.

Check the liquid oozed by lobster and add coconut cream or heavy cream for making soup or bisque.

I have added cooking wine.(but you can add wine of your choice).

At this point you can remove cooked lobster and puree the soup or strain the soup and remove the lobster shells and add just lobster meat to the soup. I haven’t done this. I don’t mind tasting bits and pieces of them.

Adding cream and wine are to increase liquid levels or to make soup. Add less quantities first and then you add more.

Cover and cook for few minutes. Don’t cook for too long after you add cream, just bring it to boil.

Lobster bisque or lobster soup is ready.
