Healthy Mango Lassi

This is very lighter version of sweet mango lassi. My daughter is very fond of mango lassi which we get in Indian restaurants here, which is very sweet. She never completes her meal without mango lassi when we visit Indian restaurants.

I came from an area which produces mangoes in abundant in India. I’m raised eating lots of mangoes from childhood from our mango garden. During mango season our house will smell like mango and will have lots of mangoes everywhere. My family is so fond of mangoes and we will eat mangoes for breakfast,lunch ,dinner and snack. We eat with chapathi, curd rice or yogurt rice, rasam and everything.

After coming to US I miss mangoes a lot. Though there are many mango varieties available here in many stores. Nothing beats fresh mangoes from my area.

I guess my daughter inherited this love for mangoes from me 😉

Mango Lassi

Mango Lassi recipe. Very simple and healthy

Ingredients

  • Mango Pulp 1.5 cups ( You can use fresh mangoes)
  • Regular Yogurt or Thick Curd 1 cup
  • Ice Cubes 1 cup
  • Honey 2 tbsp
  • Saffron (Optional)
  • Whipped Cream (Optional)

Instructions

  1. Blend all the ingredients till they are frothy in a blender.
  2. Serve in glass.
  3. You can add a pinch of saffron or whipped cream and serve.
  4. This recipe is not sweet .If you want sweeter version increase honey or add heavy cream to it.
  5. Enjoy!!!
