Munagaku Vepudu or Drumstick Leaves Stir Fry or Munrungai Keera Poriyal

Eating Drumsticks once a week is very common thing in my family in India. We used to fight for the drumstick pieces at lunch time. There are many time we felt bored of it because mom used to make them more frequently in different varieties.

There are many benefits of drumsticks. Even drumstick leaves are very healthy they are packed with lots of nutritional values. Also drumstick flowers are also used for cooking and they are very good.

Drumsticks can be used in sambar or you can stir fry them or they can be used in a curry as well.
In US we don’t find them in markets regularly. After coming here I miss them so badly. ย Only frozen drumsticks are available. How can you expect drumstick leaves if you don’t get drumsticks ๐Ÿ˜‰
We went to a different place on a weekend and accidentally checked an Indian store and found drumstick leaves. We are so excited to see them and immediately purchased them.
I made mungaku vepudu or mungaku talinpu or drumstick stir fry as soon as I reached home.

munagaku vepudu
After few minutes check whether it is cooked.

If it is cooked garnish with peanut powder or any kind of powder you like. You can avoid adding powders as well. It tastes so good even without any powder.
I like to add eggs to mungaku and make drumstick leaves bhurji. Its very yummy.

It brings back so many memories ๐Ÿ™‚
