Groundnut Chutney/ Peanut Chutney

peanut chutney
For preparing Groundnut Chutney or peanut chutney you need very basic ingredients.

I will roast ground nuts in microwave safe plate for 2-3 min. Shake them every min or 30 sec. This make life easy. You don’t have to worry about roasting ground nuts in pan.

Note: Adding Cumin,Onion,Coriander powder, curry leaves and coriander leaves gives different taste to peanut chutney. Its up to you. I normally don’t add onions while blending. I add curry leaves because my kid will remove them when added in tadka ,so if it is grinded along with groundnuts she doesn’t know I have added curry leaves. Adding coriander leaves gives green color and different color to chutney.

Also first grind dry ingredients first before adding water, you will get smooth chutney.

Do experiments with basic groundnut chutney. Add onions in tadka and add to chutney. It gives different flavor.

My mom adds coriander powder and I follow the same. You won’t find any difference if you don’t add too.

If you don’t have tamarind paste you can add lemon juice or even a small piece of tomato will do the trick.Enjoy 🙂
