Quinoa Tomato Pulao

I had quinoa on hand. If I had to cook food for myself I’ll experiment on me πŸ˜‰ My kid and hubby went to party and have to cook for myself so here goes my experiment.

I don’t know whatΒ  to do if my I’m left without laptop and my iphone. Ihad updated some software on iphone and it stopped working and battery is very terrible after that. I take most of my pictures with iphone ,don’t have time for taking pictures with camera yet, and without iphone I forgot I had a blog and needs some posting πŸ™‚

School has started for my girl and I’m occupied with her and managing my lil one. I’m spending most of my time in learning sewing these days. While I was working I didn’t have enough time to spend time on crafty side .Now I’m occupied with house,kids,cooking,blogging and shopping πŸ™‚

Ingredients for Quinoa Tomato Pulao

Quinoa 1 cup

Water 2 cups

Tomatoes 2

Green Chillies 3

Onion 1

Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tbsp

Green Peas (Optional)

Curry Leaves

Oil

Whole Garam Masala Ingredients

Coriander Leaves

Curd

Turmeric Powder a pinch

Procedure for making Quinoa Tomato Pulao

First wash quinoa and keep it aside.

Take a pan and add oil or ghee what ever you prefer. Add whole garam masala ingredients and roast them on very low flame till you can smell their aroma. Takes few seconds.

Now add chopped onions and green chillies and saute till onions change their color into lighter color.

Add ginger garlic paste and saute till their raw smell is gone and you can sense their aroma. I love frying ginger garlic paste ,such a wonderful smell πŸ™‚

Now add chopped tomatoes.Β  (Tip from Chef Dhamodharam from Jaya TV once told while adding tomatoes into the pan squeeze them with your hands so they will become mushy and cooks faster )

Saute till juices from tomatoes are almost dry but not completely dry.I have added green peas.(It is optional)

Now add turmeric powder,coriander powder and chilli powder and salt. Mix well.

Now add quinoa and water. Cover them and cook till quinoa is completely cooked.

Add chopped coriander leaves and mint leaves and enjoy with raita. It tastes good even without any add on’s . Digg in !!!
