Small Square Shaped Eggless Milk Bread

It has been long time since I baked bread. I’m not an expert yet in making bread. Still in experimenting and testing phase of bread making. Made this small square shaped eggless milk bread from Suhaiana’s blog.

I love Suhiana’s blog for making bread. They turn up pretty much the same as shown in her posts. Today I tried her how to make Eggless snack size milk bread.

It came up pretty well for first try. I expect it will be better next time ๐Ÿ™‚ By the way I don’t give up easily. I’m an optimist ๐Ÿ™‚

Ingredients for making Small Square Shaped Milk Breadย :

  1. All purpose flour 2 1/4 cups ( Recipe asked for Bread flour)
  2. Instant Yeast 1 Sachet ( I didn’t have loose yeast,recipe called for 1Tsp yeast )
  3. Milk Powder 1 Tbsp
  4. Sugar 2 Tbsp
  5. Salt 3/4 Tsp
  6. Butter 1/4 cup (Recipe asked for 30gms butter)
  7. Milk at room temperature 1 Cup

Making of Small Square Shaped Milk Breadย :

Mix all the ingredients except butter in a stand mixer or through hand.

You can add more water if you want. But one cup was more than enough for me. May be because of all purpose flour.

The bread mixture will be sticky intially keep kneading for few more minutes it will gather into a dough consistency notย  sticky dough.

Now add butter and knead for couple more minutes. Please bread dough in covered bowl. Drizzle with oil or melted butter in the bowl and move the bread dough in bowl till it is completely coated with oil. It helps dough to remain moist without drying out.

Keep it in warm place allow it rise for 1hour or till doubles in size.

Remove and roll the dough onto flat cookie sheet. I used hands to roll. But roll them with roller to get even sheet. Cut into square pieces or round pieces, whichever you prefer. If you roll them in thick sheet and cut squares you can use it as Pav bread I believe.

Cover the rolled milk bread with damp cloth and leave it for 45 min or till it doubles in size.

Before baking coat with milk generously. I didn’t do evenly so i got uneven color when it is done.

Bake the milk bread at 400 F for 10 minutes. I baked mine for 12 minutes !!!

Cool them completely and enjoy with milk or Jam or any of your favorite thing ๐Ÿ™‚
